This year, the property market has favored buyers. Compared to last year, when there weren’t enough homes to satisfy demand, buyers are in the driver's seat and taking control of their next property purchase. Here are three reasons why this gives realtors an excellent opportunity to clinch that sale.
SupplyLast year, marketing for realtors focused on encouraging people to sell their home as they had so many clients clamoring to buy. Now, there is too much supply, and so messaging needs to change to create a sense of urgency and make properties that are for sale sound desirable and must-have. PriceMany buyers have been priced out of property ownership and so, rather than borrow more than they can afford, they’ve chosen instead not to buy. As long as sellers are commanding top-dollar prices, buyers aren’t interested. Communications marketing for realtors has to take the onus off house prices and make the conversation about intangible benefits such as family happiness or quality of life. Not SettlingNot long ago, buyers would have accepted a property that didn’t tick all their boxes simply because supply was so scarce. Not so anymore. Their wish-lists are stricter and their tolerance threshold shorter, which means marketing for realtors needs to cover a broader catchment area to find a buyer looking for exactly what a home offers. If you’re selling a home, make sure buyers know it. Become smarter with your marketing messages, and you’ll be closing on sales in no time.
